Promotions from Operators Participating in Black Friday
During the 2024 Black Friday period, several mobile and internet providers actively participated by offering promotions on various subscriptions.
In total, the following were identified:
45 mobile subscription promotions (plus 9 promotions available only during Singles’ Day)
29 internet subscription promotions
From the chart, it’s evident that Salt Mobile is the operator with the highest number of mobile subscription promotions (8), followed by Mucho Mobile, which offered 100% of its mobile plans at a promotional price (6). In some cases, operators maintained promotions announced in October with end-of-year deadlines (e.g., Quickline) or opted out of participating in Black Friday discounts.
From the chart regarding the number of promotions per internet provider, we observe an average of more than two promotions per provider, with a relatively heterogeneous distribution.
We will now analyze two critical factors that classify Black Friday promotions:
Discount on the monthly fee
Total price over 24 months from the subscription date (including activation fees and any return to standard pricing after the promotional period).
Average Discounts on Monthly Fees During Black Friday
As noted, over 80 different plans were offered during this period with promotional prices or discounts dedicated to Black Friday. Let’s compare the various discount percentages provided for at least 12 months by mobile and internet operators.
The average discount applied to the analyzed mobile plans is -58% off the standard monthly price. The maximum discount of 75.7% is offered by Salt Mobile on its basic Start Max plan, followed closely by TalkTalk All In with -75%.
The average discount applied to the analyzed internet plans is -37% off the standard monthly price. The maximum discount of 60.1% is offered by yallo on its combined Home Max Cable + TV plan. In this category, it’s more common than with mobile subscriptions to see promotions with entirely free periods, followed by a return to standard pricing or the inclusion of a free device.
