"SAVE A THOUSAND IN TWO YEARS": INTERNET-OFFER ANALYSIS REVEALS AVERAGE SAVINGS POTENTIAL OF OVER CHF 1,000 ON SWISS INTERNET AND MOBILE SUBSCRIPTIONS

Offer-Check 3 steps

Switzerland, 28/10/2025 – internet-offer, the independent Swiss telecom offer comparison service, announces the milestone of over 100 bills analyzed through its innovative free service Offer Check. The initial data collected provides a clear and, for many, surprising snapshot of the Swiss market, highlighting significant spending differences among operators and an average savings potential exceeding CHF 1,000 over two years for consumers.

The Hidden "Treasure": Over CHF 1,000 Average Savings

The analysis conducted by internet-offer on over 100 mobile, internet, and combined bills has revealed a striking finding: on average, Swiss consumers could save CHF 491.03 in the first year and a full CHF 1,034.60 over a 24-month horizon by simply switching to an equivalent yet more advantageous offer.

"A thousand francs in two years is not a negligible amount: it means one could afford, for example, a full year's gym membership, or a complete weekend on Lake Como including accommodation, travel, and restaurants," comments Lapo Zarina, spokesperson for internet-offer. "The savings potential is enormous, especially for long-term customers of traditional operators."

The Savings Profile: Who Spends the Most and Who Saves the Most

The analysis identified clear disparities among providers and even based on the language spoken by users:

1. The Gap Among the "Bigs": Swisscom Leads in Average Spending

The analyzed bills confirm significantly higher average spending for customers of established operators:

  • Swisscom: Sees an average monthly expense of CHF 74 for mobile subscriptions and nearly CHF 120/month for fixed internet. The average potential saving for these users is the highest overall, exceeding CHF 1,795 over two years.

  • Sunrise: Average spending of approximately CHF 53.50/month on mobile and CHF 68/month on fixed internet, with an average savings potential of CHF 720 over two years.

  • Salt: The operator shows greater price sensitivity with an average mobile spending of CHF 36.25/month and approximately CHF 40/month on fixed, a figure that reflects aggressive promotions like the Salt Home offer at CHF 39.95.

2. Expats and Italian Switzerland: Opposite Poles of Spending

The analysis of average spending by language group revealed cultural differences in the approach to pricing:

  • Users using bills in English (presumably expats) are the most price-conscious, with an average monthly spending for mobile subscriptions of CHF 36.60 and internet of CHF 54.74.

  • Residents of Italian Switzerland show the heaviest mobile bills, with an average monthly spending of CHF 61.67, surpassing the average for German Switzerland (CHF 50.98) and French Switzerland (CHF 46.40). For Internet subscriptions, the average spending in these three linguistic segments is within the CHF 80-90/month range.

3. Market and Awareness

The distribution of analyzed bills (Swisscom 38%, Sunrise 32%, Salt 11%, other operators 19%) suggests that users of low-budget mobile operators are more inclined to check for savings, despite representing a smaller share of the total market. This also indicates that there is a vast public of Swisscom and Sunrise customers who, while able to save significant amounts, are simply unaware of the alternatives.

The "Offer Check" Methodology: Real Analysis Without Spam

The Offer Check service from internet-offer was launched in May 2025 to offer a transparent and non-commercial alternative to traditional comparators.

How it Works:

  1. The user sends a photo or PDF of their bill (mobile, internet, or combined) via the form on the website or directly via email.

  2. The internet-offer team performs an in-depth and independent analysis using proprietary data and an internally created algorithm.

  3. The user receives a detailed analysis of the potential savings via email and can decide autonomously.

Transparency and Content Parity: Unlike comparison engines that rely solely on price, internet-offer's analysis focuses on content parity. This means the potential savings are calculated only by comparing the current offer with a plan that guarantees the same performance and service parameters, including:

  • In the case of mobile subscriptions: Included data and minutes in Switzerland and/or in roaming.

  • In the case of internet subscriptions: Download/upload speed, after verifying home internet coverage (fiber/DSL/CATV) at the user's specific address, number of TV channels, and/or additional fixed-line services.

The analysis calculates the effective total cost over a 12 and 24-month horizon, taking into account all factors: activation costs, administrative fees, and any promotions valid at the time of analysis, while removing bill items independent of the analyzed subscriptions (such as premium email box services or the installment purchase of a device).

No Commercial Pressure: The service guarantees the absolute absence of spam or commercial push. The analysis is sent only via email, and internet-offer does not make calls or promotional mailings. Furthermore, if no savings are available on the market, internet-offer states this clearly in black and white, allowing users to rest assured that they are not wasting their money on their subscriptions.

internet-offer is thus confirmed as an essential tool for Swiss consumers who wish to optimize their telecommunications expenses without sacrificing service quality.
