Best mobile network coverage in Switzerland 2026: Swisscom, Sunrise or Salt?

Updated: Mar 22

Best mobile network coverage in Switzerland

Which mobile provider offers the best network coverage in Switzerland in 2026? Whether you are looking for a budget mobile plan or a premium flat rate – network quality determines whether you will be satisfied with your contract or regret it. Based on the nPerf Annual Report 2025 (published in January 2026), here is the updated ranking of Swiss mobile networks.

Network coverage is one of the most important factors – if not the most important – when it comes to choosing a mobile plan for your phone. Some users opt for cheap SIM-only rates from certain providers offering prices below the market average, only to complain later about the lack of signal. So, let’s return to the main question: which mobile provider has the best network coverage? Here is the ranking.

Mobile Coverage Switzerland 2026: The Current Ranking

To evaluate the signal quality of Swiss mobile network operators, we rely on the nPerf report published in January 2026. This report analyzes the state of mobile communications in Switzerland and evaluates various network parameters to determine the best network for a high-quality user experience.

The following ranking is based on the nPerf Annual Report 2025 (01.01.2025–31.12.2025), published in January 2026. Measurement data from over 300,000 daily tests worldwide were analyzed with a statistical accuracy of 1.5%. A ranking is created based on nPerf points, which provide a summary of the various performance parameters collected on the Salt, Sunrise, and Swisscom networks.

The official report, titled Barometer of Mobile Internet Connections in Switzerland (available on the nPerf website > Publications > nPerf Awards > Switzerland), is divided into the following categories:

  • Quality of Service

  • Overall Experience

  • 5G Experience

Service Quality 2025: Navigation and Streaming Compared

For most users, the quality of service (QoS) is what matters most – not the raw value of the download speed. nPerf measures navigation (loading time of the 5 most visited Swiss websites) and streaming (YouTube loading time in 3 resolutions).

Which Virtual Provider (MVNO) has the best coverage?

Virtual mobile network operators (MVNOs) do not own their own network infrastructure but rent capacity from the three network operators. This means: an MVNO's coverage corresponds exactly to the coverage of its host network – no more, no less.

How do I check mobile coverage at my address?

No ranking can tell you whether your specific location – your home, your workplace, your commute – is well covered. This depends on buildings, topography, and local antenna distribution. There are two ways:

  1. Official provider maps: Swisscom, Sunrise, and Salt offer interactive coverage maps on their websites. Advantage: direct manufacturer source. Disadvantage: you have to visit each website separately.

  2. Our independent network coverage map: Compare all Swiss providers on a single map at internet-offer.ch/en/mobile-network-map – based on nPerf measurement data. Free, address-accurate, and no registration required.

Who is the fastest mobile provider in Switzerland in 2026?
